In Socfin's continuous efforts to improve the well being of Malen Community, Socfin has provided resources for communities to build fish ponds in some areas in Upper Malen. The fish provide readily available protein for the children, lactating mothers, pregnant women and adult males and females.
The pictures show the harvesting of Gboyama Fish Pond carried out today (20th March 2018) to the smile and delight of the Community. Some of the fish were caught over time with a hook however community people said they will refrain from doing this in the future. A catfish weighing 4.5kg was caught. Below pictures depict part of the harvest whilst it was in progress.
