OKOMU OIL DONATES PROJECTS TO HOST COMMUNITY
In line with its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Management of the Okomu Oil Palm Company has donated projects to its host community of Extension II, located in Ovia North East Local Government Council Area in Edo State to improve the welfare of community members in the locality.
Managing Director, Okomu Oil Palm, Dr. Graham Hefer accompanied by the Edo State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Erimona Edorodion during the commissioning and handling over of the semi-industrial water borehole and renovation of the Traditional Head (Odionwere) House Projects in Odiguetue Community by Okomu Oil Palm Company in Edo State said the gesture is to uplift the lives of local residents in the company’s host community.
Dr. Hefer said the company was dedicated to affecting positively the lives of members in the different host communities, in a bid to build a strong and harmonious relationship between the company and its host communities.
Also speaking, the Honourable Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr Edorodion described the gesture of the company as a welcome development, calling on other companies to take queue from Okomu oil palm Company Plc by transforming the fortunes of the members of their host communities.
Dr. Edorodion also urged members of Odiguetue community to protect the property, adding that it was now in their hands and care.
On their part, the members of Odiguetue community thanked the Management of
Okomu oil palm for the kind gesture, while also reinstating their support
to the company.
