Biannual training about forest & sustainability

The Managing Director Okomu Oil Palm Company Plc. OOPC, Dr. Graham Hefer has urged neighboring communities to join hands in the protection of their shared forest reserve to enhance a sustainable environment.
Dr Hefer was speaking at 2019 edition of the biannual training of its neighboring communities organized by the company.
He said the company has over the years invested in imparting knowledge on members of its neighboring communities and said this is aimed at equipping them with the required knowledge in attracting speedy development to their area.
Dr Hefer said the company will not relent in its efforts in bringing development to these communities.
Prof G. Emelue of the Department of Forest Resources and Wild Life Management, University of Benin who spoke on the topic “The Community Forest and Sustainability” highlighted the important role everyone must play towards preserving the High Conservative Value (HCV) areas.
Over 19 communities attended the training.
